Thomas revient de Belgique le dernier jour de la semaine. Il vient d’emménager dans LA tour à appartements branchée de Miami Beach. Après lui avoir téléphoné, c’est comme si j’étais déjà un peu rentré. Je manque d’ailleurs de me faire écraser sur un passage pour piétons, car, me sentant chez moi, je force ma priorité, comme en Belgique (sauf qu’ici, il faut plus qu’un simple piéton pour faire ralentir un automobiliste).
On ne dirait pas comme ça vu l'ameublement plutôt sobre, mais Thomas poursuit une brillante carrière à Miami.
C’est donc chez Thomas que je passe ma dernière nuit de montage. C’est un peu irréel. Je sens que mon corps sent que c’est la fin et qu’il puise dans ses dernières ressources, prêt à me lâcher; je suis chez un ami belge mais dans un appart avec vue fantastique sur Miami Downtow; je travaille à terre, couché sur l’épaisse moquette, car Thomas n’a pas encore un seul meuble. Tout est bizarre. Je me surprends même à faire une pause pour aller tranquillement au resto avec lui, alors qu’en d’autres temps, je me serais à peine autorisé à aller acheter un chocolat à un distributeur. Dire que dans quelques heures j’aurai tout fini !!
La nuit passe vite. Onze heures le matin, heure de la dead line. Mon fichier est envoyé. Comme chaque fois David (de la production) est sur Skype et accuse bonne réception, et demande des nouvelles. C’est agréable. Surtout que là, c’est fini. Fini ! En l’espace de quelques instants, la situation ultra tendue de fin de montage a fait place à une situation de vide vertigineux. Voilà. Ca y est. Je suis toujours étendu au milieu de ce grand living vide et hyper lumineux, juste quelques caisses en carton, mon ordinateur et moi. Dehors, la vie post-Müvmédia bat son plein. Sans même me lever, je rampe jusqu’à une caisse vide, que je couche sur le côté. J’y rentre la tête et les épaules, et je m’y endors.
